The Bahamas extends 760 miles from the coast of Florida on the north-west almost to Haiti on the south-east. The group of islands that comprise The Bahamas consists of 700 islands, of which 30 are inhabited, and approximately 2,400 cays (coral reefs). Today The Bahamas has become one of the world's foremost vacation resorts. Tourism alone provides an estimated 60% of the gross domestic product (GDP) and employs about half the Bahamian workforce.
What They Needed
The Islands Of The Bahamas had a need for overall day-to-day Drupal support and maintenance for bahamas.com, and a trusted technology partner that they could work closely with to further develop the website and its supporting technologies.

The SystemSeed team quickly went to work to put the required process and structure in place to support the site effectively. SystemSeed conducted a system audit in order to identify core Drupal configuration, installed modules and configuration, any known hacks or customisation, role / profiles / permissions, and a review of the infrastructure and virtual development environments. A web-based ticketing tool was implemented to streamline the bahamas.com support process, as well as Service Level Agreements (SLA) which were developed to provide formal commitment to our client.
Several initiatives were undertaken to address opportunities within bahamas.com including multiple flash-to-Drupal conversions for functionality such as multimedia galleries (photo, video, etc). Automated workflow and revisioning processes, re-architected development infrastructure coupled with git version control system.
