8 charities benefited from SystemSeed profit donations in 2020

Each year we donate 10% of our profits to charity

Each year we donate 10% of our annual profits to charities around the world selected by our staff. This is part of our social impact commitment and one of the highlights of our team activities.

At the end of the year, we ask all SystemSeeders to put forward the charities who they would like to support and then we all vote on who should receive our funds, with amounts donated being proportional to the number of votes they received.

In 2020 we donated to a broad range of social and environmental charities, with our largest donation being made to a tree-planting organisation.

8 charities benefiting from SystemSeed's charitable donations this year

Here’s who we supported in 2020:

Water.org

Millions of people around the world could get access to safe water in their homes with the help of small, affordable loans. That's where Water.org comes in. They plan to bring safe water and sanitation to the world through access to small, affordable loans. There is both a need and demand for these loans, because when people have access to safe water, they get time back to go to school, earn an income and take care of their family. It changes their world.

We're a specialist social impact agency and that means more than serving high impact clients. We also put our money where our heart is by donating a percentage of our company profits every year.

War Child

War Child was founded in 1993 by film-makers David Wilson and Bill Leeson. On assignment in the former republic of Yugoslavia they were horrified by the violence and ethnic cleansing they witnessed, especially its impact on children. War Child’s main objective is to increase the scale of their work and reach more children in conflict areas. In 2018, the number of children, young people and adults who received direct support from War Child was 123,182.

Kiva

More than 1.7 billion people around the world are unbanked and can’t access the financial services they need. Kiva has a mission to expand financial access to help underserved communities thrive. They do this by crowdfunding loans and unlocking capital for the underserved, improving the quality and cost of financial services, and addressing the underlying barriers to financial access around the world. Through Kiva's work, students can pay for tuition, women can start businesses, farmers are able to invest in equipment and families can afford needed emergency care. 100% of every dollar you lend on Kiva goes to funding loans.

Lumos

Poverty, discrimination, war or natural disaster are all factors that can cause children to become separated from their families. For many desperate parents seeking help, their only option is to put their child in an orphanage or other institution. With support, most families could care for their children and children without families could be looked after in family-style environments, or community-based services.

Lumos works with international donors, governments and communities, helping them redirect funds to orphanages to provide health, education and social services, so children can be raised in loving families. They also train professionals to deliver better care and support and transform the conditions that leave children at risk of trafficking and abuse. Lumos helps families to bring their children home.
